English Breakfast

Students of 1st of Bachillerato have one of the most awaited English special activities of the year: visiting the school's kitchen and preparing all together a typical English Breakfast can be -and it really is- amusing!

The worst thing was having to tidy up everything, but any of us wouldn't mind to have to more days along the year.
The worst thing was having to tidy up everything, but any of us wouldn't mind to have to more days along the year.

It could also be a madness, but thanks to the excellent behaviour everyone had, the result was a brilliant morning with a delicious end...

At 8 o'clock we were all waiting impatiently at the school canteen for Mr Ian, to go to the kitchen with the bags of food we would be cooking later. Each student had a task to do: squeezing oranges, making toast, frying eggs, laying the table, etc.

Mr Ian and one of the cooks helped and supervised us while we were doing our assigned roles. People who were doing their activities in the canteen were also able to listen to the English music Mr Ian played on the radio cassette player (Coldplay and Mika). It was just a background, we -well, except from the ones in charge of the Hot Chocolate- were very concentrated on doing our work.
At about 9:30 some of the teachers started to appear in the canteen to see how it was going. The French teacher also appeared and tried to sabotage the breakfast by putting on some French ballads... while some of the students took the chance to ask him about doing a "French Breakfast" someday!

When everything was ready, we sat down at the table accompanied by Mr Ian, D. Agustín and D. Alberto Bazán (who didn't miss out on anything to eat). We all agreed that it was a fantastic activity, and believe it or not, it allowed us to know more about the English culture.
